I write character-driven science fiction about the messy people who just happen to live in space.

Praise for Defiance

5 stars

Defiance is a fast‑paced, character‑driven sci‑fi thriller that hooked me right away. The tension between survival, sabotage, and psychological unraveling kept me turning pages. If you like smart problem‑solving, flawed characters, and high‑stakes space drama, this one delivers. 💜

5 stars

I am not a fan of sci-fi — I actually usually dislike it. However, “Defiance” immediately captured my interest. This is a book about people — and it is definitely a thriller! At the end of the book I am left wondering what will happen next in the lives of the people living in this “colony” in space.

Only one person aboard can save the ship. The man in charge would rather it burn than admit she’s right.

An explosion has crippled the UNCS Jens Andersen, last of the colony ships fleeing a dying Earth. Her radiation shield is down, a stellar flare is stalking her, and Engineering has tried everything and only made things worse.

Someone has a theory. But she’s thirteen.

His campaign slides from ridicule to obstruction to sabotage. Now Erin is racing two disasters at once: the flare bearing down on the ship, and a brilliant, desperate man who knows its hidden spaces better than anyone alive. A man who would rather watch 488 people burn than be proven a fraud.

Erin is the smartest person aboard. The crew is about to learn exactly how little that matters—unless someone finally listens.

Recommended for adults and mature teens. Content advisory: violence and mature psychological themes.

Intercept Cover

The man who nearly destroyed the Andersen is the only one who can save her.

The sister ship Horizon sends a plea for doctors: an epidemic, hundreds dying. It’s a lie, and the Andersen knows it. There was a mutiny — and the mutineers’ weapons are already trained on her.

They can’t outrun Horizon. They can’t fight her. What they have is one disgraced engineer who knows that ship down to the last weld, because he was on the team that designed her. He’s in the brig. For murder.

Everyone aboard expects him to fail. The voices in his head always agreed.

He’s going anyway.

Recommended for adults and mature teens. Content advisory: violence and mature psychological themes.
